Tour Itinerary :-
Day 1 : Shimla to Kalpa
Begin your self-drive adventure from Shimla, heading towards Kalpa via Narkanda and Rampur. The drive offers scenic views of apple orchards, pine forests, and the Sutlej River. Upon reaching Kalpa, soak in breathtaking views of the Kinnaur Kailash range and explore the quaint village. Overnight stay in Kalpa.
Day 2 : Kalpa to Tabo
Drive towards Spiti Valley, passing through Khab, where the Spiti and Sutlej rivers meet. En route, visit Nako Lake and the serene village of Nako. Continue to Tabo, home to the 1000-year-old Tabo Monastery, often called the “Ajanta of the Himalayas.” Explore the monastery and relax at your stay in Tabo.
Day 3 :Tabo to Kaza via Dhankar
After breakfast, head to Dhankar Monastery, dramatically perched on a cliff with stunning views of the valley. Later, drive to Kaza, the administrative capital of Spiti. In the evening, explore Kaza’s local market and enjoy the warmth of Spitian hospitality. Overnight stay in Kaza.
Day 4 : Kaza – Hikkim, Komic & Langza Excursion
Spend the day exploring Spiti’s high-altitude villages. Visit Hikkim, home to the world’s highest post office, and Komic, the highest village with a motorable road. Continue to Langza, known for its giant Buddha statue and fossil-rich terrain. Drive back to Kaza for an overnight stay.
Day 5 : Kaza to Chandratal
Embark on a thrilling drive towards Chandratal Lake, one of the most beautiful high-altitude lakes in India. Cross the rugged Kunzum Pass and drive through challenging terrains. If accessible, spend time at the lake, soaking in its stunning beauty. Overnight stay in a campsite or return to Losar (if the road is closed).
Day 6 : Chandratal/Losar to Kalpa
Start your return journey with a scenic drive back to Kalpa. Pass through the breathtaking Spiti Valley landscapes and retrace your route through Kinnaur. Enjoy the evening in Kalpa, capturing the last glimpses of the mighty Himalayas.
Day 7 : Kalpa to Shimla
Bid farewell to Spiti and drive back to Shimla. Relive the adventure as you descend through the winding mountain roads. Your self-drive expedition concludes with unforgettable memories of Spiti’s raw beauty and challenging terrains.
